Edward strives to craft new works for the theater as a playwright, lyricist, composer, director and producer. Hs is devoted to his two loves music and writing. He seeks collaborative opportunities to see his and other new works produced globally. You can find samples of his work on this site.
Edward was born a small southern black child to northern white parents who raised him on the merits of giving back to his community and being true to his self as an artist. Seriously? Sort of! Edward was born in Brockton, Massachusetts and his family relocated to Miami, Florida when he was two years old. The diversity of Miami created a dedicated artist and social servant who spends much time on his passion for his community and creating art.
Edward is a graduate of the New World School of the Arts High School in Miami, Florida and the University of Miami in Coral Gables, FL. He graduated with a bachelors degree in Music Education and a minor in Theater. He has worked professionally performing in straight plays, musical theater, and singing in opera & jazz ensembles. As a musician and singer, he has been performing since he was ten years old. He has worked with Bob McGrath, Jose Carrerras, and Luciano Pavoratti. He spent two seasons in the Florida Grand Opera Chorus and spent six months as a cruise line lead male singer prior to relocating to Tampa Bay.
His professional acting theater credits include: Anything Goes (Ching/Understudy Sir Evelyn Oakley), Die Fledermaus (Dr. Blind/Frosh), The Rose Tattoo (Man), KinderTransport (Prop Master/Assistant Director) and the Cripple of Inishmaan (Bartleby). Edward self-produced the development production of “We’re Here, We’re Queer…It’s Complicated!” in February 2012 at the Straz Center of the Performing Arts.
When not performing, Edward pursues his other passion in community service. He volunteers his time with non-profit organization. Edward has more than 15 years experience in the non-profit industry and more than 10 years in technology. Edward is a Certified Resource Specialist (CRS) through the Alliance of Information and Referral Systems and serves as an AIRS Accreditation Site Reviewer. Edward has been a presenter at state and national conferences and has been a previous board member for several non-profit boards. His volunteer experience has included working with veterans at the Miami Veterans Hospital, a HIV/AIDS hotline and educational trainer in Miami, the Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (SPCA) of Tampa Bay, and helping people experiencing crisis in a disaster.
